FRANCHISE FOR YOU!!!

The Soupman Groweth. The man who inspired a Seinfeld episode is apparently now rolling in green pea soup-soaked money. The first franchise opened in Princeton, NJ about a year ago (no soup for you, Brooke Shields!). Along with a 6-figure check, Yeganah also requires that you send in a video of yourself berating strangers on the street in a thick Russian accent. (scanned from today's Franchisee page of the Wall Street Journal)

I have been to the original place, (before it closed,) and have been to his franchise. At Soup Kitchen International, I got yelled at, AND it was positively the best soup I had ever had. Hands down. At the franchise, the counter help was pleasant and the soup was pretty bland.

Screw the franchise, bring back the Soup Nazi!

The franchise has no credidibility until it's called "The Soup Nazi." I think people are smart enough not to be offended by the name. And if they're offended they don't deserve the soup anyways.

Less than a 100K to get into the soup racket? Not bad, not bad at all.

I'm with anon...he needs to be called the "soup nazi". "soup man" is so generic...I like the real thing.

The Soup Nazi then, Magnolia's cupcakes now. What's the deal with New Yorkers making a line for everything? The city is turning into Moscow circa 1970.

Only an idiot would buy into this franchise. Why invest in a concept whose original store went out of business, and is based on a single episode of an old TV show?
